Target Hardness Level

Grain Capacity and Resin Settings

Setting the grain capacity too low causes hard water breakthrough; setting it too high wastes salt and water.

Regeneration Frequency
Regeneration should be set based on actual usage, not a fixed schedule. Most modern softeners use demand-initiated regeneration, which triggers after a set volume of water is treated. Set the valve so regeneration occurs every 6–7 days for typical households, but adjust if you notice scale buildup or if the system regenerates too frequently. For households with high water use, more frequent cycles may prevent hardness breakthrough.
