When you donate through ActBlue, your money goes to the candidate, campaign, or political committee you selected at checkout. ActBlue acts as a payment processor and conduit, not a recipient. After your donation clears, ActBlue batches the funds and transfers them to the designated recipient's bank account, typically within one to three business days.

Who Receives the Money

ActBlue disburses funds to a wide range of Democratic-aligned and progressive entities. This includes federal candidates, state and local campaigns, party committees, and registered political action committees. The exact recipient is chosen by you at the point of donation, and ActBlue is legally required to pass the money to that entity, less any applicable processing fees.

Individual Candidates and Campaigns

Most ActBlue donations go directly to individual candidates. The platform supports federal races for the House, Senate, and Presidency, as well as state and local offices. The candidate's campaign finance team receives the funds and reports the donation to the Federal Election Commission or the relevant state authority.
